In 2019 I visited North Eastern India and travelled through the states of Assam and Nagaland. This part of India is less developed than the rest of the country and is home to some wonderful artisanal traditions.
During my travels I was introduced to a group of women in Assam who are supported by the Tata Trust to develop their weaving skills and take their product to a wider market. It's been quite a journey since then as they have battled through floods and the ravages of Covid but we are so thrilled with the results.
This range of lampshades is made from the hand-woven cotton and comes in three colourways on cream - teal, sage green and pink. The smaller sizes come with a thin stripe of colour and the larger sizes with three bands.
