Our stunning Japanese Shibori Lampshades, all of which have their own unique designs and patterns, are intended to make your home look special.

Shibori is an ancient Japanese dyeing technique that typically involves folding, twisting, or bunching cloth and binding it before dyeing. The result is a distinctive and organic pattern that captures both movement and stillness, a true reflection of the artistry involved.

This collection includes shades made from Tussar silk, a type of raw silk with a beautiful texture. The dyeing technique leaves the silk with a softly crinkled finish, reflecting the pattern of ripples in the sand. Hence, their names - Alleppey, Ashvem, and Marari - some of our favourite beaches in Southern India.

We’ve also recently added Mandrem in indigo cotton, and Pushka - a design that features a more randomised pattern, perfect for those who love the unpredictable beauty of natural dyeing.

The Shibori Lampshade Collection brings together texture, light, and craftsmanship in a way that feels both ancient and refreshingly modern. Every shibori lampshade is made by hand, meaning no two will ever be the same. The variations in tone and pattern are part of their charm, giving each piece a sense of individuality and quiet beauty.

These lampshades are available in a range of sizes from 15 cm to 50 cm, including 18 cm clip-on and 35 cm duplex fittings, making them suitable for everything from bedside tables to statement ceiling lights. The collection features tones of blue, neutrals and pinks, each one softly dyed and full of depth, creating a light that feels calming and atmospheric.

The silk versions - made from Tussar silk - have a subtle sheen and a wonderful tactile quality that diffuses light with warmth and richness. The block print cotton versions, meanwhile, bring a more casual texture, offering a relaxed yet refined look. Both materials respond beautifully to light, highlighting the fluid lines and folds of the shibori process.
