Kerala Collection

Our Keralan sari shades are made from the finest hand-loomed cotton saris. These soft, cream or white saris with their beautifully contrasting borders are traditionally worn during the Onam or Harvest Festival, a time of celebration and community in the southern Indian state of Kerala.

We source these saris from workshops in the northern part of Kerala, near Kannur, a region with a long and proud tradition of hand-loom weaving. Sadly, many of these workshops are closing down due to competition from the power loom, so we feel especially honoured to be able to support and showcase their exquisite craft through our lampshades.

The Kerala Collection captures the understated elegance and purity of handwoven cotton. Each of our sari lampshades are crafted from genuine Keralan saris, reimagined as soft, glowing shades that bring warmth and serenity to any room. The texture of the hand-loomed cotton allows light to filter gently, creating a natural, calming ambience that feels both fresh and timeless.

These gathered and pleated lampshades are available in sizes ranging from 30 cm to 45 cm, each one carefully made by artisans who continue to preserve Kerala’s hand-loom traditions. The cotton used has a distinctive character - breathable, tactile and full of subtle irregularities that celebrate its handmade origins.

While the collection takes its inspiration from the traditional cream and white saris of Kerala, we also offer variations in soft, earthy and joyful tones including brown, pink, orange and neutral hues - each one adding its own personality. These colours have been chosen to reflect both the natural beauty of the region and the vibrant spirit of its festivals.

Our Kerala Collection lampshades pair beautifully with simple, elegant lamp bases, allowing the fabric and craftsmanship to take centre stage. 

As with all our collections, these sari lampshades are created with respect for the people and traditions behind them. Every purchase helps support small weaving communities and keeps alive the ancient skills that define Kerala’s rich textile heritage.
