Collection: Shibori Lampshades

Our stunning Japanese Shibori Lampshades, all of which have their own unique designs and patterns, are intended to make your home look special.

Shibori is an ancient Japanese dyeing technique that typically involves folding, twisting, or bunching cloth and binding it, then dyeing it.   The Collection includes shades made from Tussar silk, a type of raw silk with a lovely texture and the dying technique leaves the silk with a crinkled finish, reflecting the pattern of  ripples in the sand.  Hence, their names -  Alleppey, Ashvem and Marari - some of our favourite beaches in Southern India.  And Mandrem has recently been added in Indigo cotton.
