Framed Hand-Painted Reverse Glass Animals

This collection of hand-painted reverse glass paintings brings together an elephant with a monkey on its back, a running fox, a lemur, a watchful tabby cat, a spotted cheetah and a very handsome saddleback pig.

Each is painted by hand on the back of the glass, so the colours sit crisp and glossy behind the surface, in the spirit of old Indian miniature painting and natural history illustration. Each is set in its own aged wooden frame, from embossed gilt to weathered black and a patterned burgundy.

Choose one favourite, or hang several together for a lively gallery wall. The mix of portrait and landscape formats, and of vivid backgrounds and soft cream grounds, makes them look wonderful as a group.

Frames are hand-decorated and aged, so slight variations, small marks and wear are part of the charm

The frames do not come with a hook on the back, we suggest buying command strips if you wish to hang them or you can lean them on a shelf or mantel
