Indian Kutch Embroidery

This very pretty piece of Kutch embroidery would make a brilliant wall hanging.

Kutch Embroidery originates in the Kutch district of Gujarat in Northwest India.  It is mainly practiced by women who stitched pieces for clothing, decoration of their homes and deities in their temples.  This is quite unusual in that it is stitched onto a white background with the use of a beautiful palette of soft colours.
