Vintage Uzbek Suzani Textile, Gold & Red (Square)

Hand-embroidered in Uzbekistan, this square suzani is worked in rich caramel-gold and cream, with a single large sunburst medallion at its heart. At the centre, a bold red blossom radiates eight leaf-shaped petals, set against a ring of fine, jagged edging. Sinuous scrolling vines with small clover-like flowers curve around the medallion, and a wide border of leaf scrolls and pale rosettes frames the whole piece. The dense, chain-stitched embroidery gives the surface a deep, velvety texture.

Hang it as a wall hanging, drape it over a bed or sofa, or use it as a statement tablecloth. Its warm golds and single flash of red make it an easy focal point in natural, earthy interiors.
