Turquoise Mountain Collection

We are so delighted to be joining forces with Turquoise Mountain in creating these stunning new shades.

Founded by His Majesty King Charles, Turquoise Mountain has been supporting artisans in Myanmar, Afghanistan and the Middle East since 2006.  We were entranced by the beautiful textiles they have been bringing to the international market - created by women living in remote areas in Myanmar where conditions have long been challenging even before the devastating earthquake in March of this year.

To launch our collaboration we have chosen the beautiful Win fabric.This unique design belongs to the Laytu Chin, an ethnic minority group from the west of the country, and is locally woven on a frame loom.  We love to be able to not only create beautiful lampshades, but also to support these communities and help preserve their traditional craftsmanship.

Available in two colourways - Win Blush, a combination of reds and pinks and Win Sage, a subtle mixture of greens, yellow on cream these shades make a great addition to our Collections.

Both Turquoise Mountain and Samarkand Design share the same ethos - that by creating textiles and homewares which are made using skilled and traditional methods, you will add an extra level of beauty to your home - so it’s definitely a Win Win situation!
