Iki Lamp Base

The Kimono Collection is a range of lighting and accessories inspired by the Japanese aesthetic.  At the heart of this is the beautiful Iki lamp created in partnership with the renowned ceramicist – Ikuko Iwamoto.

Based in London, Ikuko is inspired by the intricate and fragile forms found in the natural world.  Typically her work in porcelain involves using a slip-casting technique to create unique, organic pieces which are both intricate and natural.

The name ‘Iki’ comes from the Japanese aesthetic concept of a subdued display of taste or more roughly ‘chic’ or stylish.  It comes in white porcelain with a matte glaze with a textured finish which resembles a sea urchin.
