Hand Embroidered Suzani Kantha quilt

This is a kantha quilt that has been beautifully embroidered.

Kantha meaning "patched cloth" refers to both the traditional methods used for producing these unique, quilted blankets as well as the craft and stitch itself which is a small, straight running stitch in embroidery.   The word suzani comes from a Persian word suzan, meaning needle. 

We think these are a beautiful mix of both of these crafts.
