Collection: Home Accessories

Explore our collection of unique home accessories including rugs and home furnishings. Our rug collection comprises contemporary and vintage rugs from Morocco, Kashmir and Afghanistan. Although we try not to get distracted on our travels – sometimes we simply can’t resist – and our collection of hand stitched Kashmiri crewel work rugs is a case in point!

Our collection of unique home accessories includes kente cloths from West Africa, Ralli quilts from Pakistan and a French 19^th century Canape sofa covered in vintage kantha.

We also love to showpiece vintage pieces of embroidery and clothing – framed as wall art.  Banjara Galas, fragments of intricate Pulkaris all make stunning ‘pictures’ when framed.

Samarkand Design was founded in 2014 and grew from a desire to encourage and promote the traditional skills of artisans we met on our travels  along  The Silk Road – from China to North Africa.  Modern day Samarkand in Uzbekistan stands at the crossroads of those ancient trading routes.
