Monkeybiz South African Beaded Giraffe Pink & Blue

Recently discovered on our travels, these striking South African beaded animals quickly captured our hearts, and we think you’ll feel the same. Created by women artisans in Cape Town, each piece is a joyful expression of colour, skill, and individuality.

The township beading communities are mentored and supported by Monkeybiz, who supply richly coloured glass beads and materials free of charge. Each artisan selects her own palette and develops her own patterns, resulting in a truly one-of-a-kind, large-scale beaded animal. Through their collaboration with Monkeybiz, the women artisans are helped to become financially independent, and to ultimately set up on their own.

This piece features a vibrant mix of red, pink, royal blue and gold beads, giving it a lively, decorative presence. Ideal as an ornamental statement for a shelf, console or coffee table, these beaded animals also make meaningful gifts for birthdays, special occasions, or for art and craft collectors.
